Tanis's primary focus in her nursing career has been Women's Health. She completed the Nursing Program from the University College of the Cariboo in 1990. She then went on to BCIT to persue a post graduate specialty in Obstetrics.
As a labor and delivery nurse, Tanis has played a key role in countless deliveries where women become mothers for the first time. This special moment inspired her to return
back to the books and complete her training as a breastfeeding coucellor and Doula. Now, years later, Tanis has expanded her focus once more and joined the Kinetic Energy Team where she runs the women's health clinic-- offering pap testing, STI screening, IUD removals and birth control advice. Tanis takes pride in providing a confidential, nonjudgmental, youth-to-adult friendly service and is accepting new patients.
Outside of work, Tanis enjoys staying active with her family. Her hobbies include mountain biking, waterskiing, paddle boarding, ice hockey and yoga. When times permits, she also loves to travel and learn about new cultures.
